Evelyn Huron was licensed to practice law in 1987 by the Texas Supreme Court and has been license in Federal Court for the Western District of Texas and a licensed mediator since 1997. She is guardianship certified with frequent appointments as a guardian ad litem and an attorney ad litem. She was appointed by Governor Perry to the Texas Board of Public Accountancy and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. She has represented families, children, financial institutions, government agencies, non-profits and businesses in transactional work, and litigation. She has been servicing the Courts as an Amicus Attorney, furthering her knowledge and experience at understanding different prospectives and investigating for the Courts as a neutral party. Successfully mediating in Spanish requires more than just speaking the language, it requires experience, understanding and empathy for the Hispanic community. Cultural nuances must be considered when asking clients to compromise as not all Spanish speaking populations are the same. Understanding that there are differences between rural communities and urban communities among the Spanish speaking population is important when trying to settle disputes. As a Latina born and raised in San Antonio, Evelyn Huron brings experience, knowledge and a sensitivity to the resolution of conflicts involving Spanish speaking parties.
